Meine Deutsche Familie!!

My new German family are a very close loving family....We Canadians and 1 American ..are very fortunate to be a part of this wonderful family:)

I just love the above picture...Look at the smiles and happiness in this very International group.
Many people don't speak the same language..and It didn't matter..Not at all!!
Love and joy was the common language:)

Here is the speech i read, in German, at our reception.

oh..i can't find it:):)  i will add it later.

the Bride

It is 11am saturday morning..

What can i say!! I am the luckiest woman in the world..

Julian and I have had the most incredible 3 week wedding celebration we could have ever dreamed of..surrounded by family and friends..we still are enjoying new photos that are coming to us from other people.  I Never tire of looking at how beautiful and happy we are...and IN LOVE..WOW!!::
I am constantly amazed at the size of my smile..and how beautiful i looked in this dress..
I have worn my veil many times since our wedding day..and i cannot wait to wear my dress again...and I WILL:)..as often as possbible!!

Today is our 4 week anniversary..and my groom is sound asleep after a very busy week taking care of his little family...and ensuring we are all happy and comfortable and safe.

We had a 3rd birthday party for Anna yesterday evening at our apartment.  All the family came..It was a beautiful celebration of our special little Anna.  she turns 3 September 13th..and at that time she will be in Vietnam celebrating with her Mother her Father her brother and her cousin...and probably the entire Vietnamese family.

She and i had been preparing all week for her Birthday so she would know..1st that it was her birthday and what that means..and also there would be candles coming on her cake and she should blow them out.  I just wanted her to know what to expect..so she could enjoy it completely...and she did!!

She had an amazing day..dressed in her 'wedding' dress..and singing Hippy Biday to do!!..

So, today, Saturday..little Anna is with her Grandparents for 3 nights..while Julian and I enjoy some more 'honeymoon':)..then she comes back to us Monday afternoon.

On Wednesday Julian and I and a (translator friend) have an appointment at the Standesampt.
This is the place where ALL Germans must go for a legal wedding...Our situation, of course, is different since i come from Canada.

So our appointment is to prepare documents..and ensure that mine are all in order..a non relative translator must accompany me..to ensure i understand the process.

Then they must send the documents (that took us 3 months to gather)..(long story including 2 times lost documents coming from Canada..and all documents must be translated into German and the translator must see..in person..the originals) to the German courts to ensure they are in order..and in about 2 - 4 weeks they will grant us a date to get married...at the Standesampt which is like city hall or Justice of the Peace.  The wedding will take about 30 minutes or so..and we can have witnesses or a larger group with us..they will provide chairs..if we like.

Then we are legally married in Germany.

IN THE MEANTIME..my tourist visa is running out.  My 90 days are up!! Julian and I never thought this would happen again.  that i would have to leave for this reason..but it did!!

So this Thursday i will come to Canada for about 1 month.  We have planned it that i leave Germany on the 86th day..so that i will have 4 days left to return to Germany to get married.
Our plan is that once we are married..they will give me a stamp (or something) stating that i can stay.  This is what the authorities have told us..and this is what we are counting on.

So i leave on the 29th of August..and on the 7th of September..Julian and Anna fly to Vietnam..and we do not, at the time, know when she will come back to us in Germany.

and we don't know, at this time, when i will be coming back...it depends on the State and when they say we can get married.

Julian will, Im sure, go to VN to see her..but this is not an option for me until her Mother and I are more comfortable with each other.

SO..like i said..I am the luckiest woman in the world..i have a MOST amazing Man at my side..the most wonderful 3 kids..fabulous friends...and such a great family..Canadian and German..
The love and support i receive daily is just incredible...i am surrounded by people who love me..
and i love them.
WOW!!

Have a wonderful weekend.!!
